THE PERCEPTION OF JOB REQUIREMENTS

&
Defining Job Responsibilities

The process will: a) Clearly define job expectations and responsibilities; b) Produce a job description, interview procedures, and performance evaluation systems; c) Enhance the perception of job fairness; d) Create a valid process for assessing individual's readiness for, or performance in organizational jobs; e) Improve communication and focus employee and managerial efforts.

  • Step One: Clarifying Expectations - A Focus group to discuss the "Perception of Job Requirements " will clarify the scope of the project and obtain input from the participants. Consensus parameters are decided as well as specific dimensions that comprise the PJR Questionnaire. The individual phases of the project, the feedback process, and the implementation of the results are explained.
  • Step Two: Gathering the Data - Participants respond to the PJR Questionnaire and complete "the Birkman Method Questionnaire."
  • Step Three: Achieving Consensus - The data from the PJR Questionnaire is compiled in a report and reviewed by all participants. Items that show discrepancy are discussed to reach appropriate consensus. A final "Consensus Report" is generated.
  • Step Four: Implementation - The final "Consensus Report" is utilized to develop: a) a specific job description; b) a profile that can be used as an assessment tool; c) an action plan to be utilized as a coaching tool and as a performance review of individual competencies;
