Choice:
Identifying the requirements of the job

A critical step in making an accurate and informed choice is to define and understand what is needed to get the job done. The determination of key responsibilities in a position is essential to the selection of personnel and avoids costly misunderstandings. Effective Organizational Systems helps the organization clarify the job functions most relevant to organizational success, create a competency list tied to the job description, articulate performance standards and feedback processes, and focus on group strengths and needs.

Creating a fit:
A profile for the job, for the group, & for the individual.

  • Step One: After job requirements have been defined, Effective Organizational Systems creates a "job profile", that identifies a candidate's best fit for the job in terms of the individual's characteristics, strengths, and interests.
  •
  • Step Two: Individuals don't work in a vacuum but require the support of systems and people. A good fit should consider how the individual interacts with the group and what he/she uniquely contributes to the group. Effective Organizational Systems creates an individual and group profile utilizing, the Birkman Method®. The candidate's profile is then compared to the group's profile to determine how the group and the candidate compliment each other as well as to identify possible areas of concern.
  •

  • Step Three: A "360 degree questionnaire" provides feedback on the perception of the individual's strengths and needs.
  •

  • Step Four: A specific action plan is generated from "the profile" of each team member to maximize his/her effectiveness in the group. The action plan may be used as a developmental plan and as a performance evaluation plan.
